2 Positive numbers The numbers listed to the right of zero on a number line.

3 Negative Numbers The numbers listed to the left of the zero on a number line.

4 Natural numbers Counting numbers

5 Whole numbers Zero and the counting numbers

6 Integers Zero and all positive and negative whole numbers

7 Rational numbers All integers and numbers that can be expressed as a fraction or a terminating or repeating decimal.

8 Irrational numbers Numbers that can not be expressed as terminating or repeating decimals on in the form of a fraction.

9 Square root One of two equal factors of a number (the principal square root is the positive square root of a number)

10 Perfect Square A number with a rational number as its square root.
