3. I. 2006-2007 Foundation Goals Each Club set its own goals
District asking for 100% participation (every person gives something)
District recommending Club’s aim for over $200/member.

4. II. How can you raise funds for the Rotary Foundation?
And encourage participation in Foundation programs

5. What is the Role of the Club Foundation Chair—vis-à-vis GIVING?
Communicate goals—especially 100% participation
Have a PLAN for the Foundation giving.
“Tell the Foundation Story”, thru programs
Ask Rotarians to give (1:1, letters)
Handle paperwork—submit recognition forms in timely manner
Handle recognition is a great manner!!!

6. What is the Role of the Club Foundation Chair—vis-à-vis PARTICIPATION in Foundation Programs?
Encourage club member(s) to participate in International Project-and write matching Grant
Develop a local project for DSGs (district Simplified Grants)
Have active members SPEAK about their experiences
MAKE THE CONNECTION between giving and the programs

Develop and manage MATCHING GRANTS
Develop and implement a local (in town) DISTRICT SIMPLIFIED GRANT
Be Active in Group Study Exchange
Be Active with Scholars & University Teachers
Travel with projects

19. Matching Grants—what can you do?
Go to District International Services Chairs meetings—look for ideas
Talk with District Water and Literacy Coordinators for grant ideas
“Piggy-back” with another club’s project
Develop your own project—and write your own grant
SUBMIT final and interim reports! Good stewardship
Matching Grant deadlines are March 31 every year.

20. District Simplified Grants—This Year & Next Year
If your club has been funded:

21. Group Study Exchange
Host Group Study Exchange teams when they are in USA (Germany this year!)
Nominate young (under 40) business people to be GSE team members.
Join the District GSE committee
Invite former GSE team members to speak at your club
Invite former GSE team members to JOIN your club

22. Scholars Be a Mentor for an outbound Scholar or University Teacher
Recommend a University Teacher (may be Rotarian) to apply for Teaching Scholarship
Recommend a person to apply for Ambassadorial or cultural scholar
Act as a Mentor for a scholar from elsewhere in the world, studying in the Seattle are
Invite past scholars to speak
Invite past scholars and teachers to join your club
