5 Location of Components
4/12/2019 Location of Components The location of the following c components has changed when compared to the c 8000 system. Front: Rear: - Sample and Reagent Syringes - ICT Aspiration Pump - Probe Wash Pumps - ICT Reference Pump - Bulk Solution Supply - High Concentration Waste Pump - Wash Solution Pumps - Cuvette Wash Pump Document Control Number ©2006, Abbott Laboratories, Abbott Park, Illinois

7 Dual Line Feature The c uses a dual line feature to pair assays for each run improving the throughput of the c The system aspirates reagent for two assays, one assay on a designated “A-line” and the other assay on a designated “B-line”, in the same cycle. 8 Dual Line Feature (cont’d)
Both Reagent Supply Centers (R1 and R2) consist of an inner and outer carousel Outer carousel = A-line (shaded) Inner carousel = B-line (unshaded) Document Control Number ©2006, Abbott Laboratories, Abbott Park, Illinois

9 Dual Line Feature (cont’d)
4/12/2019 Dual Line Feature (cont’d) The following components exist in pairs (A and B) to accommodate dual line technology : Reagent probes, R1 & R2 Mixers, R1 & R2 Reagent syringes, R1 & R2 Cuvette washer nozzles 1-8 (total nozzles = 16) Probe wash pumps Wash solution pump (alkaline & acid) NOTE: A single sample probe dispenses sample into two separate cuvettes (A and B) during a single cycle. 10 Loading onboard solutions
4/12/2019 Loading onboard solutions Onboard solutions consist of Wash Solutions, ICT Diluent, Saline, and Water Bath Additive. Differences in loading onboard solutions are displayed in the following table: Onboard solution c loading c 8000 loading Detergent A 10% Detergent B 0.5% Acid wash R1 & R2 (C1 & D1) R1 & R2 (C2 & D2) R1 & R2 (C3 & D3) R1 & R2 (D1, E1 or E2) Water bath additive R1, A1 R2, A1 ICT Sample Diluent R1, outer carousel only (any position) R1 (any position) Saline (for sample dilution) R1, outer and inner carousel (as configured on Reagent Status screen) R1 (as configured on Reagent Status screen) Document Control Number ©2006, Abbott Laboratories, Abbott Park, Illinois

12 Loading Reagents Reagent cartridge Reagent supply center placement
4/12/2019 Loading Reagents Reagents Both cartridges of a two reagent assay must be placed on the same line (A or B). Refer to Iron and Alkaline Phosphatase examples in table below: ICT sample diluent must be placed in the outer carousel (A-line) of the R1 reagent supply center. 14 Loading Reagents (cont’d)
4/12/2019 Loading Reagents (cont’d) Replenishing reagents with an active calibration curve To avoid recalibration when replacing an empty reagent cartridge, load the new cartridge on the same line as the reagent with the Active calibration status. NOTE: If a reagent with an Active calibration status is moved from one line to the other (A/B) and scanned, the calibration status for that reagent changes to No Cal. 15 Assay Files Assay Import Message Description
4/12/2019 Assay Files Assay Import When you copy an assay file from an ARCHITECT c 8000 System to an ARCHITECT c System (or vice versa), the sample probe wash protocol and/or wavelength assay parameters may change. A status message displays to indicate this change during the import process. Message Description OK - Multiple parameters converted, review Message History. The following assay parameters were changed: • Sample wash protocol for sample probe changed from Optimized throughput (c 8000 only) to Maximum wash (c 8000 and c 16000). See Add / edit SmartWash window – Sample probe view (c System) field descriptions. • Primary wavelength and/or Secondary wavelength. See Configure assay parameters window – General – Reaction definition view (photometric – c System) field Descriptions. Document Control Number ©2006, Abbott Laboratories, Abbott Park, Illinois

18 4/12/2019 Maintenance Changes The following daily and weekly maintenance procedures have been modified. These changes apply to both the c and c 8000 systems. Current c 8000 procedure New c system procedure Daily Maintenance Check 1mL Syringes Procedure name did not change Moved the following maintenance step to Weekly maintenance: - Check ICT aspiration and reference pump 1 mL syringes. Weekly Maintenance 6019 – Check ICT Probe and Tubing Procedure name changed to 6019 – Check ICT components. Added the following maintenance step: - Check ICT aspiration and reference reference pump 1 mL syringes. Document Control Number ©2006, Abbott Laboratories, Abbott Park, Illinois
