This title shows that 500 toys were sold. The legend shows the categories for the pie graph. The categories on this pie graph show the percentages of each category.

3 Interpret Pie Graphs How many puzzles were sold? 500 Toys Sold 6% 25% 22% 8% 4% 35% Stuffed Animals Board Games Computer Games Puzzles Action Figures Dolls How many board games and computer games were sold? How many more action figures were sold than dolls? Compare the number of stuffed animals sold to the combined number of puzzles, board games, and dolls sold. To find the number of toys sold for each category, multiply the number of toys sold by the percentage for the category.

4 Interpret Pie Graphs How many puzzles were sold? 20 500 Toys Sold 6% 25% 22% 8% 4% 35% Stuffed Animals Board Games Computer Games Puzzles Action Figures Dolls How many board games and computer games were sold? 215 How many more action figures were sold than dolls? 80 Compare the number of stuffed animals sold to the combined number of puzzles, board games, and dolls sold. 8 Reading a Double Line Graph:
Double Line Graphs Use the legend to distinguish data sets. In this graph, the number of Reading a Double Line Graph: miles Anya and Kip walked are represented by blue and yellow lines. To compare the number of miles Kip and Anya walked in July, find July on the horizontal axis and read up. Number of Miles 70 60 50 40 30 20 10 April May June July August Month Miles Walked Anya Kip The yellow line is lower than the blue line, so Kip walked fewer miles than Anya.

9 Double Line Graphs Who walked the most miles in April?
Number of Miles 70 60 50 40 30 20 10 April May June July August Month Miles Walked Anya Kip Who walked the most miles in April? Who walked the greatest number of miles in one month? What month was that? Who shows the least variation in the number of miles walked each month? Between which two months is the greatest increase in the number of miles Kip walked?

11 High Scores on Space Warp Reading a Double Bar Graph:
Double Bar Graphs Number of Points 700 600 500 400 300 200 100 1 2 3 4 5 Game High Scores on Space Warp Mick Jasmine Use the legend to distinguish data sets. In this graph, yellow and purple Reading a Double Bar Graph: bars represent the scores Mick and Jasmine achieved playing Space Warp. To compare the number of points in Game 1, look at the heights of the two bars. The purple bar is higher than the yellow bar, so Jasmine scored more points in Game 1 than Mick.
