When making photocopies, in order to get the lightly shaded tectonic area to show up properly, you might need to set your copies to copy an image/photograph. Regular copying might not show the faint outline as intended.

At the ocean bottom, 2 tectonic plates are pulling apart.
As they do, magma rises, then cools and hardens to form new rock, like basalt and gabro.
