Use of 2018 reporting – draft products

2. Products from 2018 reporting data
Draft proposal of products to be produced with the information of reporting presented in Document DIKE_
The products will aim to:
Demonstrate the work done by MS to implement the Directive (e.g. number of criteria with GES determinations)
Show the state of the marine environment per (sub)region (thereby giving a European picture), e.g.:
What is the state (per topic – pizza and satellite)?
What is the extent to which GES is achieved (per topic)?
Has it improved/stable/deteriorating (since last reporting)?
Final objective of agreeing on the products: to automatize as much as possible their generation, so that results from reporting can be shown in WISE-Marine as soon as possible after the reporting due date

3. Further work needed
The present document only includes the name of product, type (chart, table or map) and level (European, (sub)regional or National)
Some examples have been generated with the 2012 information
The proposal will be further developed and the next version will aim to:
Present a more specific and agreed set of products, based on feedback from WG DIKE to the present version of the paper.
For each product, it will show which fields will be used and how they will be aggregated/processed.
Worked examples (either 2012 data or mock data), to help understand each product and assess its usefulness.

5. Steps forward
The following steps forward have been identified related to the development of the products presented here:
September-October 2017: draft proposal of products presented in WG DIKE, commented by Member States and amended with their comments.
November-February 2017: proposal about the concrete representation of each one of the products and how to display it in WISE-marine developed.
Spring 2018: proposal taken to WG DIKE and TG DATA, discussed with countries and amended accordingly.
Autumn 2018: draft products of reporting data produced and published in a test environment. Presented and discussed in WG DIKE and TG DATA.
Spring 2019: final products of reporting data developed and displayed in WISE- marine.
