1 Aim: How do we begin to see each of the characters defined?
Do Now: What questions do you have about either the plot so far or what will happen in the future? HW: Finish any leftover classwork.

2 Basic Understanding: Why are the girls human if their parents are werewolves? Because the genetic traits of being a werewolf “skip a generation” Why are the werewolves shunned? They weren’t “people” enough to be liked by people, but they also aren’t “wolf” enough to be liked by real wolves.

3 Why do the parents decide to send the girls to St. Lucy’s?
Because the girls are purely human (not part-human and part-wolf) they think the girls will be able to live better if they learn to live as humans.

4 How and when can multiple people be considered a singular character?

10 How do we see “the pack” as a singular character at this stage?
Narrator consistently uses “we” instead of “I” Uses “the pack” when describing actions Actions seem to have been taken by everyone rather than by an individual

11 What do I mean by character trait?
Character traits are all the aspects of a person's behavior and attitudes that make up that person's personality. Everyone has character traits, both good and bad. Character traits are often shown with descriptive adjectives, like patient, unfaithful, or jealous. Character traits are NOT temporary emotional states! If a character is rarely angry, then “angry” is not an appropriate character even if the character is really mad at a single given point!

12 With a partner, evaluate character traits for “the nuns” and “the pack” as singular characters. Be sure to support your choice of trait with evidence and brief explanation.

13 Now work on Claudette, Jeanette, and Mirabella. Find 1-2 for each.
(Claudette is the narrator.)
