3. AAA: Automated Enforcement
AAA Mid-Atlantic strongly advocated for the original Philadelphia red light camera program.
Protections:
Warning signs
Reasonable and appropriate penalties
Camera vendor paid a flat amount, not per citation
PennDOT approves intersections
Cameras located based on crash data not traffic volume
Yellow light timing must be no less than federal standards
Revenue to the Motor License Fund for safety/mobility projects throughout the state not just local jurisdiction.

4. AAA: Automated Enforcement
AAA believes legislation establishing speed cameras should include similar procedural safeguards and protections for motorists.
Keeping the public perception of automated enforcement positive comes down to:
Focus on safety
Not revenue generation
Transparency
Accountability/Reporting/Justification
