Art Lesson Grade: 4 Activity: Collaborated recycled art Keywords: Collaborative art, reflective properties, transparency, kinetic art Supplies: -Multiple plastic bottles (soda, water, milk jugs, etc.) -Construction Glue/adhesive Hot glue colored tissue paper -Scissors colored sharpie s pipe cleaners Artist blurb Art Guide Prep: You will need to collect plastic bottles ahead of class ,look through the recycle bins at school, have students bring larger plastic bottles from home. Make sure they are rinsed, cleaned and dry. Make copies of artist blurb. Hands On Art: Students will use plastic bottles (one or several- depending of what they are making and time) to create some kind of “sculpture”. Use scissors to cut into the bottles to create a new shape. Show students examples and then let them be creative. They may use tissue paper to put into the bottles to add color, or they can use sharpie to color smaller features. Pipe cleaners can be used for bug antennae or limbs. Volunteers may help adhere pieces together with hot glue, make sure it is on LOW.

2 Finish and Display: Examples:
This will be a mural style display. Use construction adhesive to adhere to butcher paper. Take a picture of the finished work. Get developed and the picture is what will get sent home with the artist blurb in their portfolio. When display is finished and you take down, Students can take home their creation. Examples:
