2 Explicit (adjective) fully revealed or expressed without vagueness
EXAMPLE: When she had a teachers’ meeting, Mrs. Francis left explicit directions for her class to follow. Your example?

3 Implicit Adjective Capable of being understood by reading between the lines. In other words, you have to use context clues to figure out the meaning. EXAMPLE: Charles Dickens always has a sense of moral duty implicit in his writings. Your sentence?

4 Imply Verb To express something in an indirect way
To suggest something without saying or showing it plainly EXAMPLE: Early reports may imply that the judge’s death was not an accident. Are you implying that I don’t take my work seriously? Your sentence?

5 Connotative Adjective Synonym————implicit
When words or expressions suggest an association or secondary meaning in addition to the primary meaning EXAMPLE: Shakespeare’s puns use connotative words in order to suggest several meanings. Your sentence?
