2. Epiphany derives from Greek ἐπιφάνεια, epiphaneia, it means "to appear", "appearance," "manifestation."

January and it's a Christian
feast day.

3. Italian tradition
The word "Epiphany" was transformed into Befana, the great fair held at that season, when little statues of terracotta were sold.
In popular folklore, Befana visits the children of parts of Italy on the eve of January 6 to fill their socks with candy and presents if they have been good or a lump of coal or dark candy if they have been naughty. In other regions, especially in the South, children may look forward instead to a visit from the three Wise Men themselves (Balthasar, Melchior, and Gaspar).
