9 How will the information I provide be used?
The responses from the mentor and student assessments and the scenario based learning activity will be collected by SDS for processing A report will be generated showing results (detail on this is provided later) This report will be shared with course tutors for discussion with students SDS will remove personal details and retain the data for research purposes SDS/SQA are piloting this approach and will use the data for the purpose of evaluation

10 Consent and data rights
Student data will be shared with the college and tutors The data that SDS/SQA keep for research purpose will be anonymised You are not required to participate in the assessments and tests – it’s your choice You can withdraw consent for SDS/SQA to use your personal data at any time Your responses will be kept confidential SDS will delete the data we collect after 12 months SDS will seek permission to contact you again for research purposes

11 Results The results of the individual assessments will be provided in the form of a password protected PDF, detailing key differences between the learner, mentor and the scenario based learning outcomes. These differences should form discussion points to enable the learner and tutor identify potential development areas.

12 Results - Examples The first part of the results PDF is a comparison between the learning results, all scored from 0 to 5. Green results for the 'Self' identify where the learner has scored themselves the same as the mentor. Amber is where the self assessment is higher than the mentor, and pink/red is where the self is lower. Also included is the Scenario Based Learning scores.

13 Results - Examples The 2nd part of the results is a spider map detailing those areas where differences are present.

14 Results - Examples The final part of the report will detail those areas where the differences in scoring are most evident – these should provide the initial points of discussion for the tutor – Guidance notes are provided

15 Results - What can we use this for?
The results of the individual assessments should be used as a tool for beginning discussions between the tutor and learner. It will allow for a targeted approach to developing metaskills, as well as allowing participants to take confidence in areas where they are already showing levels of individual metaskills.
