NTI Backup Now is 2 programs in one – file backup and drive backup. Will demo NTBackup that comes with Windows XP. Backup types are Paper vs Digital. Before we can answer these questions we have to know just “What is a backup”. 5 Install the Program – 1 Backup Now
2 1 3 5 Insert CD will auto run to display image 1. This is the Backup program. The second program to install is Drive Backup. Programs are installed one at a time. Reboot after the first install. The default folder for the reports is where the program is installed. 4

6 Install Drive Backup – Program 2
Flash 1 is auto run install CD. Flash 2 Wizard. Flash 3 done. Reboot after install Drive Backup.

7 Create a Bootable CD for Recovery
1 2 Create a bootable CD from the menu bar. Create a boot Disc option under tools. This is done from Drive Backup and is used only to recover a drive image. The Create Emergency Recovery Tab was not done because this would take 9 CD’s. 3

8 Image the C: Drive 1. What to backup?
Create an image of the hard drive. Test the backup once a quarter. Have multiple copies and rotate. 1. What to backup?

12 What is a BACKUP? Just what is a backup? NTI file backup or drive backup.

13 What is a Backup? Make copies of data, files, documents, videos, folders, pictures, and anything that is important or a keepsake. Something that is archived to a storage media other then the computer where the originals are kept and worked on until complete. This archive becomes the data to restore if a data lose or the computer crashes. Deciding what to back up is highly personal. Anything you cannot replace easily should be at the top of your list. Decide where you want to store your backup copies—external hard disk drive, CDs, DVDs, or some other storage format. It is simply a place to copy data to external media to restore if the original gets lost or unreadable. Always have more then one backup copy.
