3 Principles and Essential Features of Standards Documents (Oct 2007)
Achieving tenure and promotion through the ranks is based on incremental and accumulative growth of a faculty member Encourage faculty members to create a portfolio that describes activities, achievements, and future plans The significance of the work should determine whether a candidate merits T or P, not merely a particular number of [contributions] Senior/Associate/II – must be recognized and assessed at national level; Principal/Full/II at international level Principles to guide in the development of Standards documents

4 Tenure Tenure shall be granted when there is consistent evidence of meeting the required academic performance standard, demonstrated professional growth, and the promise of future development. The criteria for tenure…. (a) Satisfactory record as a Teacher or in Professional Role, as measured against standards approved by Senate; (b) Satisfactory record of Scholarship, as measured against standards approved by Senate; (c) Satisfactory record of Service, as measured against standards approved by Senate.
