From the Counselor
Winter Break is upon us and the kids are full of energy and excitement! I think we are all ready for a short break in our routine. When we return to school on Thursday, January 2nd we will continue to talk about bully behaviors in counseling. In all grades we visit about the difference between normal peer conflict and bully situations. We discuss the three roles that are involved in a bully situation, (the bully behavior, the victim, and the bystander) and we talk about strategies to use if a child ever finds themselves in this situation.
We continue to emphasize kindness and treating others the way we want to be treated and although our school isn't perfect and we occasionally have bully incidents, we have great students and families who take care of one another. Thank you for being active and involved...and have a wonderful winter break with your family.
