Interstage management for home monitored patients with outpatient events. Events are defined as oxygen saturation <75%, any weight loss of 30 g, or failure to gain 20 g in 3 days. Additional event criteria added in 2005 are oxygen saturation >90% and enteral intake < 100 cc/kg/d.

Actuarial survivals for home monitored patients with events, home monitored patients without events, and patients who remained hospitalized to stage 2 palliation (S2P). Survivals beyond S2P are similar between home monitored patients with and without interstage events (P = .3). Survivals beyond S2P are lower in interstage inpatients than those discharged to home with and without events (P = .001 for both).
