8 Mind Maps: Top Tips Lesson 3.8 – Mind Mapping To improve performance
Start in the centre of the page with an image of the topic. Make the lines the same length as the word/image. Use at least 3 colours in your mind map. Use colours – create your own code or key – throughout the mind map. Use images, symbols, codes, shapes and different sizes throughout your mind map. Develop your own personal style of mind mapping. Select key words and print using upper or lower case letters. Link ideas together using dotted lines if the connection is weak and thicker and solid if strong. Each word/image must be alone and sitting on its own line. And remember: The lines must be connected, starting from the central image. The central lines are thicker, organic and flowing, becoming thinner as they radiate out from the centre. A picture speaks a thousand words! Symbols and shapes can replace words Humour helps!
