3. Human
mixture of earth and divine breath; an incarnation (embodiment) of the divine.

4. Personhood
basic right and dignity given in creation; still not recognized for all humans in all societies (unborn babies, slaves, “the enemy”); implies that we are relational (literally means “turned toward the other”)

5. Anthropology
the science that studies the origin, development and customs of human beings. Physical anthropology deals with evolution of the human body; cultural anthropology deals with social development, practices and beliefs of human beings.

6. Freedom
the power, rooted in reason and will, to act or not to act, to do this or that. It is the power to act deliberately on one's own responsibility.
The more one does what is good, the freer one becomes. There is no true freedom except in the service of what is good and just. The choice to disobey and do evil is an abuse of freedom and leads to "the slavery of sin."28
Freedom makes man responsible for his acts to the extent that they are voluntary.

7. Creation
Human beings are the outcome of the desire of God. God formed us. God gave us life, our desire for one another, our relation to animals, our moral life, and our ability to speak.

8. Culture
a product of human activity. Human beings are the only species that does not fit automatically in nature; they have to create a culture that provides what is best for the birth, growth and fulfillment of the human creature.
