2 Question 1: An old man drops his wallet
Question 1: An old man drops his wallet. Some local toughs notice and gesture for you to keep quiet. What do you do? What would you do? a) Call out to the man and return his wallet. b) Nothing – you don’t want to get beaten up. c) Grab the wallet yourself and run. d) Nothing – he should be more careful and it’s not your problem.

3 Question 2: On your way for a date you see someone unconscious on the side of the road. What do you do? What would you do? a) Call an ambulance and stay until it arrives. You can explain to your date later. b) Don’t get involved – if someone attacked, they might still be around. c) Go to help, then call your date: heroes are attractive. d) Do nothing – don’t let this get in the way of your date.

4 Question 3: A house is on fire, and a woman is outside screaming, 'My baby! My baby!' What do you do? What would you do? a) Run into the building to rescue the baby. b) Phone 999 and leave it to the professionals – you don’t want to get hurt. c) Hang around and stay safe, but try to get a share of the credit afterwards. d) Nothing – if she’s so worried, why isn’t she going to rescue the baby?

5 Question 4: Your school asks for volunteers to help old people with their shopping. What do you do?
What would you do? a) Volunteer to help. Then organise the other volunteers, filling gaps in the rota yourself. b) Nothing – old people smell. You don’t want to be teased for helping them. c) Volunteer. It will look good on your CV. d) Why should you carry someone else’s shopping? You’ve got better things to do.

6 Question 5: You are in the local shop when you notice some kids shoplifting. What do you do?
What would you do? a) Block the exit and tell the shopkeeper. b) Nothing – what if the kids turn nasty? c) Ask about a reward, and tell on the kids if the reward is good enough. d) Nothing – it’s not your problem, and the shopkeeper should take security more seriously.

7 If you answered mostly A
What would you do? If you answered mostly A You are brave and selfless, always ready to jump into action as soon as you see danger. It may not always be the wisest choice, but when has that ever stopped you?

8 If you answered mostly B
What would you do? If you answered mostly B It's not that you don't care about other people, it's just that you are too scared of what might happen to you. Some things are too important not to put yourself on the line for.

9 If you answered mostly C
What would you do? If you answered mostly C You're willing to take risks to help others, but only when you can see what's in it for you. You have everything you need to be a real hero, except the ability to put others first.

10 If you answered mostly D
What would you do? If you answered mostly D You are so unengaged in what goes on around you, it's a wonder that you even notice anyone else. Everything that happens seems to be someone else's problem, not yours. But remember, one day it might be you that needs someone else's help.
