We must understand that certain events change over time while others stay the same (attitudes, processes, actions)
It is not correct to suggest that what has been written about history is the absolute truth and can never be thought differently (remember Sir John A. Macdonald)
He has always been considered a great part of creating Canada but recently some of his flaws have begun to make our opinion of him differ
How were his flaws considered when he was alive? How about now?

8. Change and Continuity
- Continuity and Change are interwoven: both can exist together- timeline of events- can be a good starting point
- Change is a process, with varying pace and patterns. Turning points are moments when the process of change shifts in direction or pace (game changers)
- Progress and decline are broad evaluation of change over time. Depending on the impacts of change, progress for one people may be decline for another
- History is a process of interpretation, by which we decide which events or developments constitute a period of history
