ADP Workforce Now provides you with the ability to track employee development-related information, including the following: Education Licenses and certifications Skills Memberships Awards Training Language Previous employers You may allow your managers and employees to enter and update this information on their own using Manager and Employee Self Service.

Starting Point: People > Development > [Development Page]

6 How Do I Add Employee Development Information to an Employee’s Record?
Starting Point: People > Development > Licenses/Certifications Navigate to the employee’s record. Click Add (+). Enter the appropriate information. Click Done.

7 What Do I Need to Do to Use Employee Development?
You can begin using Employee Development after you complete these tasks. The last two are optional, depending on your company’s policies regarding Manager and Employee Self Service. Task Description Populate validation tables You need to populate the employee development-related validation tables to provide the user with values to select when updating employee records. Make Employee Development pages available in Self Service If you want your managers and employees to update their own development records, you need to make the My Team and Myself pages available to them in Manager Self Service and Employee Self Service. Set up approval workflows and workflow paths If you are going to make Employee Development pages available to your managers and employees in Self Service, you may want to set up approval workflows and workflow paths so that the entries that managers and employees make are approved by someone.

20 What Does It Mean to Manage Employee and Manager Access to Employee Development Pages in Self Service? When Employee Development is enabled, you can customize and manage manager and employee access to the related pages in ADP Workforce Now by enabling access permissions to the appropriate My Team and Myself pages in Self Service. You can further customize access by creating security groups, if needed, and specifying the types of access you want to give those groups of employees. For example, some companies may create a security group for temporary employees to limit or prevent their Self Service access.

Starting Point: Setup > Security > Access Permissions Click Menu Access. Click Manager or Employee, depending on which profile you want to update. Click the appropriate manager or employee profile that you want to update.

23 How Do I Make Employee Development Pages Accessible in Manager Self Service?
After accessing the appropriate manager profile, complete the following steps: Select My Team. Result: The My Team menu access page is displayed. Enable access to Employee Development pages by selecting the check boxes to the left of each page. Enable the ability to edit those pages by selecting the check box to the left of the Edit Privileges selection for each of the pages. Click Save. Note: You can deactivate access to the pages in a similar way by clearing the check boxes.

24 How Do I Make Employee Development Pages Accessible in Employee Self Service?
After accessing the appropriate employee profile, complete the following steps: Select Myself. Result: The Myself menu access page is displayed. Enable access to Employee Development pages by selecting the check boxes to the left of each page. If you allow managers and employees to update their development information in Self Service, you may want to set up approval workflows so that those entries are reviewed, acknowledged, or approved by a practitioner or manager. As a best practice, you should set up the approval workflows before configuring the Manager and Employee Self Service access.

Starting Point: Setup > Approval Process > Approval Paths Click Add (+). Complete the Approval Paths page. Click Save.

Starting Point: Setup > Approval Process > Activity Configuration Click the activity that you want to configure and associate with the approval workflow. Complete the Activity Configuration page by assigning the approval path and identifying the types of notifications, if any. Click Save.
