13. Money advice – where are we now? The figures
UK personal debt is estimated at 8M in debt
We are currently only reaching around 1.6M of that number
The Bank of England has recently reported the highest rise in consumer credit in a decade
By 2021, people will be worse off in real terms then they were in 2003
It is estimated 1 in 8 has some form of problem debt
