For national public/third sector organisations and industry bodies including money advice organisations, credit reference agencies and trade associations. National Business Membership For specialist companies including debt collection agencies, enforcement agents, commercial advice providers, creditors and technology providers.

13 Money advice – where are we now? The figures
UK personal debt is estimated at 8M in debt We are currently only reaching around 1.6M of that number The Bank of England has recently reported the highest rise in consumer credit in a decade By 2021, people will be worse off in real terms then they were in 2003 It is estimated 1 in 8 has some form of problem debt

14 The future – beyond immediate challenges
How are we planning to build capacity? How are FCA authorised organisations looking to invest? What can we do together to tackle Problem Debt? Is technology an enabler or a solution? How far down the tech route can we foresee? What are the opportunities for innovating around Artificial Intelligence and Big Data? Will we see debt advice specialists in collection departments?

Inaugural meeting today hosted by South West Water at the Bournemouth Water offices Further meetings to be held in Exeter and Bristol / Bath in 2019 Other potential venues for 2020 and beyond? Need to form a South West Region Committee Do you want to be involved?
