9 CREATING A DOCUMENT BY LAUNCHING AN APPLICATION PROGRAM
Click the Start button. Point to All Programs on the Start menu. Point to Accessories on the All Programs submenu. Point to Notepad on the Accessories submenu.

11 Type the following information in Notepad, pressing the ENTER key to move to the next line:

File name Click File on the menu bar and then point to Save As

Type Sanchez Reminders (Monday) in the File name text box. Point to the Desktop icon on the shortcut bar. Click the Desktop button and then point to the Save button in the Save As dialog box

Click File on the menu bar and then point to Print

Click the Sanchez icon on the desktop. While holding down the SHIFT key, click the Pearson Reminders (Monday) icon on the desktop, and then release the SHIFT key

35 Drag the Pearson Reminders (Monday) icon onto the Start button on the taskbar. Do not release the left mouse button

36 Drag the Pearson Reminders (Monday) icon onto the My Documents command on the Start menu. Do not release the left mouse button

Double-click the Pearson Reminders (Monday) icon. Press the DOWN ARROW key five times to move the insertion point to the end of the document in the Notepad window. Type 4. Call Dan – Birthday Party for Carol and then press the ENTER key

Click the Sanchez Reminders (Monday) – Notepad button on the taskbar. When the window opens, type 5. Dinner with Art Perez – 7:00 p.m., The Crab House and then press the ENTER key

Place the mouse pointer below and to the right of the two document icons in the Daily Reminders window. Drag through until both icons are selected. Point to Delete the selected items in the Daily Reminders Window
