2 One Point Perspective Why do we use one point perspective?
When you use one point perspective, parallel lines converge to one point somewhere in the distance. This point is called the vanishing point. This gives objects the impression of depth. In what scenario would one point perspective be useful? Designing room layouts Ideal for many of the graphics projects.

3 One Point Perspective Five steps to One point perspective…
Draw a horizon line, with the Vanishing Point in the centre. Draw the face of the object beneath the horizon line From each corner of the object draw a line up to the vanishing point Draw in the back vertical and horizontal lines. Erase the guidelines

5 Two Point Perspective Five steps to Two point perspective…
Draw a horizon line, with the two Vanishing Points at either end of the line. Find centre of horizon line, and position ‘near corner’ of object you intend to draw. From either end of the ‘near corner’ line draw lines to the vanishing points on either end. Draw in the vertical lines, and join them to the opposing vanishing points. Erase guidelines.

Orthographic Projection Why use orthographic projection? Allows sizes to be added to the drawing easily. 2. Enables you to see objects in proportion to the drawing. 3. The structure of the object can be clearly identified as well. 4. Specific detail can be shown easily. Must consider the geometry of projection

8 Orthographic Projection
Isometric drawing The object in a glass box, positioned such that the panes of glass are parallel to the major surfaces of the object and at 90 degrees to each other

9 Orthographic Projection
Project lines from the corners of the object (with each line at 90 degrees to a surface of the glass), until these lines intersect the glass, one can lay out 6 "views," each of which represents the object as it is "seen" by the various panes of glass.
