3 D&I Specific Aims Aim 1. Support and facilitate a learning community and serve as a conduit for active local dissemination and integration of D&I educational resources from NIH and other national organizations. Approach Training workshops, seminars and graduate CLSC courses Collaborator and disseminator of resources curated and produced by the Adult and Child Consortium for Health Outcomes Research and Delivery Science (ACCORDS) DI Program Innovation Translating resources into enduring, digital e-learning platforms for broader dissemination among the CCTSI’s multi-institutional membership, and nationally

4 D&I Specific Aims Aim 2. Catalyze and centrally support the CCTSI research community in the use of D&I research and methods, to achieve increased efficiency and economies of scale. Approach Research consults in coordinated collaboration ACCORDS DI Program: SOM-CHC T3/T4 faculty, including VA CCTSI DI Program: Major center grants, fellowships and other cross-institutional initiatives CCTSI Research Studio Innovation Modeling and adopting best-practices from the Washington University-St. Louis CTSA | Institute for Public Health experience

Catalyze and centrally support active bi-directional dissemination and implementation of clinical and translational sciences innovation Approach CTSA innovation inward into our local CCTSI ecosystem (“adoption” strategies) CCTSI innovation outward to the CTSA network (“scale-up” strategies) Innovation Systematic application of Diffusion of Innovation Theory and Designing for Dissemination best practices Natural experiment evaluation of adaptive dissemination Experimental evaluation (‘A/B Testing’) of dissemination strategies and messaging

Dr. Elaine Morrato, CCTSI Dissemination Core Director, is also the CCTI Innovation Ecosystem (I-Corps) director, ACCORDS D&I scientist and Dissemination lead for the ACT Network. Dr. Bethany Kwan, CCTSI Dissemination Core Associate Director is also the CCTSI QPIP Director and ACCORDS Education lead and D&I scientist, and co-lead of the Data Science to Patient Value initiative’s dissemination core. She brings health care system emphasis. Plus $$ for Dissemination Materials

NHLBI K12 Career Dev​elopment Training in T4 Implementation Science and Heart, Lung, Blood, and Sleep (HLBS) Disorders Data Science to Patient Value (D2V) A multidisciplinary research initiative focusing on Big Data methods, their applications to medicine and health care delivery, and ultimately, the achievement of high value, patient-centered health care. Pharmacogenomics Implementation Committee Colorado (PICColo), a system-wide clinical pharmacogenomics implementation initiative Center for American Indian and Alaska Native Diabetes Translation Research NIDDK P30 Center funded to extend prevention and management research of proven efficacy to both clinical and community settings A sample of where we have contributed Prevention Research Center funding proposal for the Colorado Rocky Mountain Prevention Research Center. Focus on the scale-up and spread of effective interventions targeting Adverse Childhood Experiences

17 Response to EAC Critiques
“The reviewers agree that for now the primary focus should be the successful dissemination of methods (teaching people how to fish rather than fishing for them). Over time the growth of a culture of integrating research and practice is a laudable goal, but requires considerable institutional buy-in and support.” Our CCTSI 3.0 Dissemination Aims focus on disseminating D&I methods and clinical and translational resources to investigators.

Part B focuses on disseminating CCTSI innovation outward to the CTSA network (“scale-up” strategies) What advice or strategies do you recommend for: Assessing CTSA hub partner needs Selecting and prioritizing which CCTSI innovation is suitable for dissemination across the Consortium Establishing ‘business models’ for sustaining dissemination For example: We could approach this using I-Corps methods in which our “customers” are CTSA hub partners (that is, extend the approach we are using for disseminating the ACT Network)
