Session 6b Scenarios and Skills
12
Scenario 1 Characters: Mei Lei 17, Chloe 17, Ben 18. May Lei - “I have been best friends with Chloe and Jazz since Year 7. The last few weeks they have been a bit odd with me, they keep whispering and last night when I was with Ben, he’s my man, we’ve been going out since last May, anyway Chloe messaged him twice. What the hell is she doing texting my bloke??? Now they have both texted me within the last 10 minutes to say they aren’t around after school and I should go to the Youth Project on my own and they will see me there. What the hell!?!? They are obviously seeing each other. I hate her, how could she do this to me. She knows I am really serious about Ben. OMG I am going to pull her to pieces when I see her. Can’t cope, I’m going home, there is no point me staying in school, I can’t concentrate, I am soooooooooo angry. She is going to really regret this!”
13
Scenario 2 Characters: Matt, Dad, James, police officer – optional. Matt – “I’m 17 and since I’ve started playing football in a men’s league I’ve made new friends and just feel more like I belong. I didn’t really feel like I fitted in at school and have never had a best mate as such. We all go out for a curry once a month and its really fun. They buy me drinks and there’s no fuss about ID. It’s just a laugh! Last night James, he’s our goalie, asked me to look after his sports bag overnight as he wasn’t going straight home. I didn’t think anything of it but this morning my dad was going ballistic as he had seen the bag in the hall and wondering whose it was, had gone through it. Seems there was a bag of weed in it. He’s now going crazy and screaming at me. Why is he being such a jerk? It’s not mine and now he’s said I can’t play with that team anymore and he’s going to the police. OMG I HATE HIM SO MUCH. It’s not mine, it’s not a problem, everyone smokes weed and he shouldn’t even have been looking in the bag. Everyone is going to hate me. He ruins everything.”
