1 Cross-cultural communication —Education What does “education” mean?
Education -----using the existing experiences and knowledge scrutiny, educators foster the students’ metal development in a planned and organized way, with the aim of explaining all kinds of phenomena, or behaviors, or questions to increase the experience of growth ability, the core of its basic is a relatively mature people treat or rational thinking to cognition.

2 What are the differences between Chinese and Western educational cultures?
Family education Chinese parents lay emphasis on children’ study and are prone to make any decisions for their children because Chinese parents think great grade will bring about reputation as well as success. Thus, all but tasks for Chinese students are hard-working and enter into a key university then hunt for a good job. Besides, Chinese parents seldom converse with their child and always give priority to material needs instead of mental needs. So the relationship between parents and children fixes up with respect and formality.

3 Family education Western parents put the practice and capability on the first place. they always encourage children to innovate and cultivate their independence. Apart from it, they think little of their children’ grade because grades can not represent everything. Comparing with Chinese parents, western parents maybe communicate with their children occasionally. More often, they play with their children and argue about quite a few questions together. Hence, they look more like friends than parents.

In China, education is a way of inculcate education, first teaching experience, then using it to guide our practice. Besides, it is widely acknowledged that industriousness and the motivation made this possible. Academic education In western, education is an attempt. Most students first take up experiments and then draw conclusions from it. What’s more, their teachers are good at foster their critical thinking.

Firstly, economic regional differences China have a explosive populations. So everyone are concerned about their living standard. They have a giant survival pressure because they had to support a extended family. On the contrary, western countries mostly are developed countries, they don’t worry about the living and enjoy the generous social security. Secondly, differences in social values. In western, what matters most is the students’ ability of power, communication and thinking by themselves. Whereas in China, they think highly of diploma and degrees. That is to say, the excellent students will graduate from the key universities and at the same time it seems that they will possess the great talents. Thirdly, cultural differences. Chinese cultural values are conservative ,dare not risk and obey the rules. The good education system is that you always keep the discipline. But the western education stress the adventurous spirit and innovative spirit, advocating free play.

6 What are the difficulties in implementing students-centered principle and inquiry-based approach in the Chinese contexts and the reasons behind? Firstly , according to Chinese national conditional, there is no better way to deal with current education. Although it owns its weaknesses, we have to admit it suitability. Secondly, limited by our economical development, it is impossible for China to widespread quality educations. Thirdly, if implementing students- centered principle and inquiry-based approach, it maybe is not fair between the poor and the rich, causing the good resource grabbed by first-class people and appearing the bigger distinguish. .

7 What are the situations of the Chinese oversea students in UK and USA and the reasons behind?
Situations and reasons behind : 1.unsatisfy with the life there. They lack close friend and relatives in the UK and USA. Besides, they have trouble in communicating with others, leading to their loneliness and helplessness. 2.feeling being discriminated and isolated by native students.

As the one-child in family, they are taken good care in their family, contributing to their poor independence and lacking of common sense. 3. with physical and mental disorders. During the study period ,more than 90 percent of international students often suffer from many unhealthy physiological and psychological reactions due to their lack of adaptation to the foreign culture.
