What are the benefits of mentoring to the mentor? What are the benefits of mentoring to the mentee? What are the benefits of mentoring to the business?

5 Initial Meeting Get to know your mentee Establish mentor reason

6 Initial Meeting Practice
Mentors You are about to meet with your mentee for the initial meeting. Your mentee is new to the business and is keen to progress Mentees Mentees to refer to the Mentee brief in the handout

7 Subsequent Meetings Updates Progress made
Personal Development Plan actions Mentee development issues since last meeting (to be explored by mentee and mentor) Mentor relationship with mentee’s line manager: If a development action has not been achieved due to operational difficulties you will need to ensure the line manager appreciates how important the action is to the individual’s ongoing 6/12/24 month plan Try to seek/gain agreement from them for another date for the action to be undertaken
