We take approximately 600 new students each year. However, applications are increasing and that number is growing.
We focus on Technical Professional Study Programmes.
We also have a small GCSE resit programme.
Great progression pathways to university or employment.
84% of students who applied progressed to university (way above the national average).
We are now also offering Apprenticeships and we have growing adult and
Higher Education provision.

In top 25% of colleges nationwide for Added Value (that means that students progressed more at Stanmore College than was predicted from their GCSE grades).
GCSE pass rate 91.4%.

A range of Technical Professional Study Programmes!
Grouped into 14 categories.
A wide range of levels from Entry to Level 3.
Level 3 study programmes are equivalent to 3 A Levels.
This year saw students receive a range of benefits such as laptops to equip them for their studies.
Work experience directly related to your study programme.
Enterprise start up fund to allow individual or groups of students to create their own social enterprise.
Apprenticeships.

7. Study Programme Areas
We also offer a GCSE retake package, an ESOL Plus programme whereby students can improve their English whilst learning business, childcare, IT, sport or science skills and apprenticeships.

8. Enrichment
Subject based enrichment involves trips, visits and external speakers. Trips over the last year included Auschwitz in Poland, Greece and Portugal.
We have 21 individual clubs and societies which provide non subject based enrichment.
The enrichment team also provide free activities such as boxing, badminton, basketball, volleyball, rock climbing, archery, skiing and kayaking.

BTEC – Applied Learning –“Putting theory into practice”.
Level 3 BTEC is an alternative to A Levels.
Extended Diploma = 3 A Levels.
A Levels are hard, BTECs are easy - myth??
A Levels -> Exams?
BTEC -> Assignments/Projects/Exams?
BTEC –> 4 exams – 40% of the qualification.
A Level (eg Computer Science) -> 80% Exam, 20% Project.

This year 84% of students who applied to university were given a place – the highest percentage so far, with many securing a place at their first choice university.
National average for sixth form colleges is around 65%, therefore Stanmore College is well above.
Over 74 Higher Education Institutions chosen.
An annual dedicated careers’ fair is held at Stanmore College – this helps students to choose their next steps.
