2 JAX/Norfolk Purpose When you separate or retire, you will no longer be covered by the Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act (UOCAVA). You will need to notify local election officials of your change in voter registration status and update your personal information in order to vote locally

3 Remaining in the same area in CONUS?
If you have voted absentee or locally and are staying in the same voting residence after separation, notify your election official of your change in status and that you will be voting at the poll site in future elections. A sample letter is provided at mplate.docx

4 Moving within CONUS after separation?
If you voted absentee or locally and are moving to a new state or county after separation: Step 1: Notify your election official of your change in status and that you will no longer be voting in that jurisdiction. A sample letter is provided at: Step 2: Complete a National Voter Registration Form ( to register as a civilian.

5 Remaining or moving abroad after separating?
You will continue to be covered by UOCAVA as an overseas citizen
