1. Take Full Ownership of the Gospel
2 Timothy 2:1–7

2. Are you enjoying all the freedoms of being a Christian, but not the responsibilities? Are you enjoying the benefits of the gospel, but not the duties demanded of it? We are to take full ownership of the gospel to strengthen our church and enjoy the eternal benefits of our labors.

3. Taking Ownership of the Gospel
Be strong by the grace Christ supplies
Be faithful to pass on the gospel to the next generation
Endure with devotion, discipline and complete understanding of the gospel

4. 2 Timothy 2:1
You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.

5. 2 Timothy 2:2
The things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.

6. 2 Timothy 2:3–4
Suffer hardship with me, as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. No soldier in active service entangles himself in the affairs of everyday life, so that he may please the one who enlisted him as a soldier.

7. Enduring for the sake of the gospel
We are to be:
Devoted like a soldier
Disciplined like an athlete
Diligent like a farmer

8. 2 Timothy 2:5
Also if anyone competes as an athlete, he does not win the prize unless he competes according to the rules.

9. 1 Timothy 4:7–8
discipline yourself for the purpose of godliness; for bodily discipline is only of little profit, but godliness is profitable for all things, since it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.

10. 2 Timothy 2:6–7
The hard-working farmer ought to be the first to receive his share of the crops. Consider what I say, for the Lord will give you understanding in everything.

11. 1. Fight against spiritual drought as you fight for satisfaction in Christ. 2. Remember that contentment in life trumps achievement in life. 3. Preserve the priority of the local church Take full ownership of the gospel!
