Concrete foundation Reinforced, poured‐in‐place concrete walls Cross‐gabled and flat roof with parapets Highly articulated, Gothic Revival‐style decorative elements: Distinctive square tower with multiple turrets Gothic-arch window and door openings with elaborate tracery Paneled or slab wood entrance doors Large rose window Windows with diamond pane leaded glass and both stained and clear glazing Engaged buttresses with flared bases, gabled caps, pinnacles, and crenellation

Criterion C met: Embodies the distinctive characteristics of a locally significant property type, architectural style and period as well as the work of a locally significant architect: Exhibits character-defining features of Gothic Revival style Significant work of H.M. Patterson and Leon Caryl Brockway

Find that the First Congregational Church building at 464 East Walnut Street is significant under Criterion C Recommend that the City Council approve the designation of the property as a landmark
