5. Modern History – the General course
What kinds of things will I learn about in this course?
In the first semester you will learn about a great historical change in studying the American revolution. In semester two you will look into power and authority and how different groups interact, with a focus on an authoritarian state like communist Russia.
What kinds of skills do the successful students in the course have?
Your literacy skills will develop as you read about and analyse past events.

What kinds of assessment will I do? You will do a variety of assessments which include source analysis, essay writing and historical inquiry.
