3 Facts Concerning Holy Spirit
A personality – John 15:26; 16:13,14 He is deity – Acts 5:3, 4; Hebrews 9:14 Can be resisted – Acts 7:51 Can be quenched – 1 Thessalonians 5:19 Can be grieved – Ephesians 4:30

4 Purpose To Mankind Reveal mystery of Christ 1 Corinthians 2:7-13

5 Gifts of the Spirit (Tongue speaking, etc.)
Tongues were languages Acts 2:4-6; 1 Corinthians 14:1-13 Purpose Confirm the word – Mark 16:20 Edify church in absence of completed revelation – Corinthians 14:1-5 Received by laying on of apostles hands Acts 8:14-21 Purpose fulfilled 1 Corinthians 13:9,10 cf. James 1:25; 2 Timothy 3:16,17

7 Indwelling of Holy Spirit
Romans 8:9-14; 1 Corinthians 6:19 “In” refers to relationship – Philippians 2:1 Example of Christ in us (Galatians 2:20) and us in Christ (Romans 8:1) When we follow spirit’s directions then spirit is “in” us and we are “in” spirit Ephesians 5:18,19 cf. Colossians 3:16

8 What Must I Do To Be Saved?
Hear the gospel (Romans 10:17) Believe Jesus is Christ (Acts 8:37) Repent of your sins (Acts 17:30) Confess faith in Christ (Matthew 10:32) Baptized for remission of sins (Acts 2:38) Faithful unto death (Revelation 2:10)
