Some define them as: “parts that no longer serve a purpose or function. Left over evolutionary pieces.”
They could just as well be defined as: “Parts that we have no idea what function they could possibly have. – Assume useless and disposable”
… I’ve repaired many an engine or vacuum only to discover Vestigial Parts and Pieces.
At one point, mankind was pretty sure there were over 200 such vestigial parts of the human body. I mean, what could EYE BROWS and HUMAN HAIR possibly be good for?

More and more these ‘once vestigial organs’ point less and less at evolutionary blow-by and more and more at an incredibly insightful and wise designer!
Where did the idea of VESTIGIAL ORGANS come from?!? Perhaps it was popularized by Charles Darwin.

Did you know that there is a movement in America seeking to establish a National Day for Charles Darwin?
They are pushing for Feb. 12th, as several other countries have done.
The Institute for Creation Research pointed out the redundancy, as in America, we already have a day set aside for Darwin… April 1st.
Regardless, Darwin proposed Vestigial Organs as one of his many proofs of Evolution.

Richard Dawkins, pointed champion of evolution, in his 1986 book , “the Blind Watchmaker: Why the Evidence of Evolution Reveals a Universe Without Design,” wrote this:

He would laugh at any suggestion that the photocells might point away, from the light, with their wires departing on the side nearest the light. The wire has to travel over the surface of the retina to a point where it dives through a hole in the retina (the so-called "blind spot") to join the optic nerve. Dawkins claims that there is no all-knowing God of creation. If there were, He would not have wired the retina backwards.
After all! This is simply OUT and OUT obstruction of vision!
And nothing could further capitalize on this notion of screwed up depricatious vision than to publish a BOOK that must be READ by READERS who will use their EYES to Do So!
Surely if our vision were such a decrepit criticism, the ‘Blind Watchmaker’ should have been produced in braille, right?
But the gauntlet has been thrown down. Is God slipping?! Did He not think this one through?!?

How many think it would be a good idea that if you were handling hazardous materials all day long, you should wear Personal Protective Equipment?
You know, they say that POLICIES protect people… but if a policy is ever trumped by circumstance, your PPE is your LAST SAFETY MEASURE that, in some cases, may save you life.
Our EYE has a PPE. DID YOU KNOW THAT?!

The retina, besides being an extremely sophisticated transducer and image processor, is clearly designed to withstand the toxic and heating effects of light.
The eye is well equipped to protect the retina against radiation we normally encounter in everyday life.
- Yes… it’s ‘blocking the light.’ But WHY?

Besides the almost complete exclusion of ultraviolet radiation by the CORNEA and the LENS together, the retina itself is endowed with a number of additional mechanisms to protect against such damage:
• The RETINAL PIGMENT EPITHELIUM produces substances which combat the damaging chemical by-products of light radiation.
• The RETINAL PIGMENT EPITHELIUM plays an essential part sustaining the photoreceptors. This includes recycling and metabolising their products, thereby renewing them in the face of continual wear from light bombardment.
• The central retina is permeated with XANTHOPHYLL PIGMENT which filters and absorbs short-wavelength visible light. The photoreceptors thus need to be in intimate contact with the retinal pigment epithelium, which is opaque.
The RETINAL PIGMENT EPITHELIUM, in turn, needs to be in intimate contact with the choroid (also opaque) both to satisfy its nutritional requirements and to prevent (by means of the heat sink effect of its massive blood flow) overheating of the retina from focused light.
- Yes… it’s ‘blocking the light.’ But WHY?

If the human retina were 'wired' the other way around (the verted configuration), as evolutionists such as Dawkins propose, these two opaque layers would have to be interposed in the path of light to the photoreceptors which would leave them in darkness!
Thus I suggest that the need for protection against light-induced damage, which a verted retina in our natural environment could not provide to the same degree, is a major, if not the major reason for the existence of the inverted configuration of the retina.
- Wired for protection? Who would have thought?!?

Because scientists have shown our retinas are designed exactly the way they should be in order to receive photons (light) and direct the impulses via the optic nerves to the back of the brain where they are made into images. Indeed, if the eye was designed to Darwinist specifications, we would be blind.”

When plants absorb daylight, they are also being bombarded out there with UV rays…
… but has anyone ever seen a tree with a suntan?!?
You never will, either. Why?
A tree’s leaves can absorb light and the warmth from it, and the very first layer to absorb sort-wavelength visible light is XANTHOPHYLL!!!
- If hindsight is 20/20… what is Foresight?!?!

… but it still must have been pretty hard to explain.

--- but then, he goes right into the whole ‘a series of small changes can make evolution work.’
But even the DICTIONARY knows there’s quite a difference between REFINEMENTS and DEVELOPMENTS!

The most amazing component of the ‘camera eye’ is it’s film!
Your “EYE BALL”s film is a light-sensitive layer at the back of the eyeball that is thinner than a sheet of plastic wrap and is more sensitive to light than any man-made film.
The best camera film can handle a ratio of 1k-to-1 photons in terms of light intensity… Exceed this range, and you have WASHOUT or BLACKOUT.
Yet, your retina can candle a ratio of 10B-1 photons!!!!
It can cover a dynamic range of light wavelengths of nanometers!
The human eye can sense as little as a single photon of light in the dark!
In bright daylight, the retina can BLEACH OUT, turning it’s volume control (more like a SQUELCH ON A CB) way down so as not to overload it’s system!!!
- Camera’s attempt to mimic the human eye…

The light-sensitive cells of the retina are like an extremely complex high-gain amplifier that is able to magnify light more than one million times!!!
There are over 10m rods and cones in the retina… ALL packed together with a density of 200k per square mm in the highly sensitive FOVEA.
This is the area of highest concentration of cone cells. These photoreceptor cells have a VERY high rate of metabolism… that is, they must completely replace themselves about every 7 days!
If you look at a very bright light such as the sun, the immediately burn out, but are rapidly replaced in most cases.
The next time you try to not blink at a camera flash or someone’s high-beams at dusk… try not to think about how fast your body is reproducing photoreceptors!… after all, God must be an idiot wiring things soooooo poorly!!!! :-P
- So… how would you like a camera that never ran out of film, could repair itself, and auto-focus?
