1 Factors Influencing Mortality After Emergency Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting for Failed Percutaneous Transluminal Coronary Angioplasty  Harold L Lazar, Alice K Jacobs, Gabriel S Aldea, Oz M Shapira, Diane Lancaster, Richard J Shemin  The Annals of Thoracic Surgery  Volume 64, Issue 6, Pages (December 1997) DOI: /S (97)

2 Fig. 1 Use of the intraaortic balloon pump (IABP) and reperfusion catheter in relation to the incidence of perioperative myocardial infarction (MI) and death. The incidence of perioperative death and MI is constant from 1981 to 1995 despite the increased use of reperfusion catheters. The use of the IABP appears to decrease as the use of reperfusion catheters increases. The Annals of Thoracic Surgery  , DOI: ( /S (97) )
