2. National parenting project introduced across Scotland in 2013.
Includes 2 parenting programmes:
-Incredible Years Pre-School Basic programme
-Level 4 Group Triple P

3. Incredible Years Programme
14 weeks, 2 hour sessions
Strengthening Children’s Social Skills, Emotional Regulation and School Readiness Skills
Using Praise and Incentives to Encourage Cooperative Behaviour
Positive Discipline – Rules, Routines and Effective Limit Setting
Positive Discipline – Handling Misbehaviour

4. Triple P Programme (Positive Parenting Programme)
8 weeks (5 sessions + 3 supportive phone calls)
Safe and Engaging Environment
Positive Learning Environment
Assertive Discipline
Realistic Expectations
Parental Self-Care
Protective environment and opportunities to play
Responding to children in supportive ways to encourage learning and independence
Setting limits, calm clear requests, planned ignoring and appropriate consequences
Developmentally appropriate goals
Protect their own wellbeing and self esteem
Both programmes involve discussion, personal goal setting, Video clips and skills practise

5. East Renfrewshire – Criteria and Outcomes
Parents of children aged 3 – 6.
Target - estimated around 10% of population
Strengths and Difficulties Score: or above
82% children had an improved SDQ score at the end of the groups.
63% children moved out of clinical range into the normal range.
As measured by the strengths and difficulties questionnaire.
Slightly above the national average success rate.

In ER there are 14 Incredible Years practitioners and 9 Triple P practitioners
Groups available each year from:
March – June and Sept – December
Five groups running currently
Two Triple P groups due to start
(31st Oct, Eastwood HC ; 27th Oct , Glen FC)
