Fig. 1 Life-table analysis of postoperative external carotid endarterectomy (ECEA) restenosis compares 10 external carotid arteries reconstructed with patch angioplasty and six with primary arteriotomy closure alone. ECEA was considered restenotic or occluded if the postoperative arterial lumen was reduced by 50% to 100%. Mantel-Haenszet test was used to compare results (X2, p = 0.011).
