2 Objective:- Assyrian History & Architecture. The main cities in it.
Explain the Khorsabad city.

3 Assyrian History:- Around 2000 B.C. Ur was destroyed and the
Sumerian power ended. They borrowed from the Sumerian literature, religion, law & art Assyria is an ancient Mesopotamia city located on the upper Tigris. Assyria's name comes from its capital Assur. The main Assyria cities were; Nineveh, Dun, Khorsabad, Nimrud & Assur. The Assyrians were great warriors & hunters, this was reflected in their art. They produced violent sculptures & relief carving in stone that was used to ornament their houses.

4 Assyrian Architecture :-
During the Assyrian periods, Temples lost their importance to Palaces, the Ziggurat in time lost some physical standing to other focal points of the urban fabric the (palace of the king). The Ziggurat became more adjacent to the king’s palace, which it completely dominated the cityscape.
