Morrison has been an outspoken activist on issues such as civil rights and women’s rights and role in society She has been a guest lecturer at several institutions and museams such as Princeton University and the Louvre Museum in Paris

5 Influences Morrison’s influences as a child were Jane Austen and Leo Tolstoy Her writing has been compared to Zora Neale Hurston, Alice Walker, and Alex Haley Her style of writing can be seen in nearly every urban literature writer of the past decade.
