2. How did inflation affect the u.s. economy after wwi?
A lack of inflation in the prices of corn, wheat, cotton, cattle, and other agricultural goods made it hard for farmers to make ends meet.
However, there was inflation in the prices of many other goods. But wages were not going up, so industrial workers could not afford as much as they used to.
As a result, throughout 1919, almost 20% of Americans went on strike for higher wages and shorter hours.

3. The Red Scare
Red Scare: a wave of widespread fear of suspected communists and radicals thought to be plotting revolution within the United States
The first American Red Scare was caused by revolutionary activity abroad, coupled with trikes across the United States. 
The emergence of the Soviet Union as a communist nation fed these fears.
Communist ideology called for an international worker's revolution as a prelude to the death of capitalism

4. What are the Palmer Raids ?
The raid was made by the U.S. Department of Justice in 1919 and It was an attempt to arrest foreign anarchists, communists, and radical leftists, many of whom were subsequently deported. The raids, fueled by social unrest following World War I, were led by Attorney General A. Mitchell Palmer and was viewed as the climax of that era’s so-called Red Scare.

5. What was formed after these attacks to protect people's civil rights??????
The German and Russian monarchies toppled, and new forms of government were created. The Austro-Hungarian and Ottoman empires ceased to exist. Britain and France emerged from the war victorious but economically and politically weakened. And the victorious U.S. came out of the war strong, confident, and prosperous.

6. What happened to Sacco & Vanzetti? Why is it important?
Nicola Sacco and Bartolomeo Vanzetti ,Italian immigrants and anarchists, were executed for murder by the state of Massachusetts in 1927 based on doubtful ballistics evidence . For countless observers throughout the world, Sacco and Vanzetti were convicted because of their political beliefs and ethnic background
What happened to them is important because, in the days leading up to the execution, protests were held in cities around the world, and bombs were set off in New York City and Philadelphia

7. Why was there a push for Americans to return to normalcy?
The push for a return to normalcy was part of Warren G. Harding's presidential campaign. The previous president, Woodrow Wilson, recommended James M. Cox to continue his ideas. Warren G. Harding then proposed a return to normalcy, or what he had believed to be a simpler time before president Wilson was elected. The campaign worked, and Harding was elected into office.
