3 Introduction Many types of mobile equipment are available for use by employees and contractors doing a wide variety of work. Many if not all of these machines, have to operate within close proximity to persons on foot. They all however, present similar types of known Hazards. This training is designed to identify and hopefully better educate those who must work around or operate these types of equipment, since they all possess the capability to cause serious injury of death.

19 Personal Protective Equipment
Employees must wear PPE as specified by the Job Hazard Analysis and MUTCO standards. Watch for constantly changing conditions or scope. Protect your hands, feet, eyes, head and face. Wear Hi-Vis vest while working around equipment and traffic. (Class II or III as conditions warrant) Consider the what if’s? How about your buddy??

44 NEVER… Work or walk under suspended loads.
Suspend loads over PEOPLE OR HAZARDOUS AREAS Use equipment that can contact utility lines, observe set backs as required under the city’s Electrical Safety Related Work Practices. 10 feet Plus 4 inched for every 10 KVa. Operate equipment that you have not been trained to operate. Perform maintenance on equipment if you have not been trained to do so.
