Savko 2/28/2019 What are the following reasons ? -they had a strong belief in their god and its messenger, the king -when crop failure came due to drought and soil erosion, they looked to the king for answers, for help -the king’s response was to increase human sacrifice, give more blood of his people to please the gods -surprisingly, it didn’t work. Unrest occurred within the Mayan empire, resulting in fighting and lack of faith in their leader -as time passed, the people felt it might be easier to live on their own and they moved out to surrounding jungles, where descendants still live today
