We are learning!
We read several stories and focused on the setting, characters and did a bit of comparing and contrasting.
We studied the letter Aa and the /a/ sound at the beginning, middle and end of words. We also learned new sight words: have, is, play, up & it.
We played a fun game to practice our sight words. It’s called ROLL-A-SIGHT-WORD. The kids worked in teams and took turns rolling a die. They had to graph the sight word that was next to the number they rolled. We had a lot of loud cheering in our room!
In math, we focused on shapes. We created many shapes on geoboards.
In art, we made Christmas trees to put up in the hall. We also made our Christmas gifts !

Please be sure to label all your child’s winter gear.
Take time to review letter sounds and sight words.
Read, read, read at home! Have your child be a sight word detective and see how many can be found.
