18 Vlad III, also known as Vlad Dracula (1431 – 1476) was Prince of Wallachia. Wallachia used to be a state which is now part of Romania. Vlad is best known for the legends of the very cruel punishments he gave. As Prince, he was fighting against the Turkish expansion. He is the vampire character in Bram Stoker's popular Dracula novel.
