1 w Miss C’s Classroom Classroom Search Your Tab Name In-Text Citations When quoting or citing sources, you MUST use in-text citations in your essay to show that the evidence is credible, and to make sure that you are giving credit to the author(s) of the quote. How to insert in-text citations: MEDIUM FORMAT EXAMPLE WEB SOURCES (ONLINE ARTICLES, NEWS ARTICLES ETC.) (Author’s Last Name, “Title of Article”). (Smith, “The Life of T.S. Eliot”). PRINT SOURCES (BOOKS, MAGAZINES, JOURNALS ETC.) (Author’s Last Name pg.#). (Wiesel 57).

Write three to four sentences about the background information on your author or argument. Make sure all of your paragraphs are double-spaced. If you are using a quote in your first paragraph, make sure to cite the evidence using in-text citations. The last sentence in your introduction should be your clear and concise thesis statement.
