1. UK Core Project – GEO 135
Students will set up a temperature monitoring station using a small microsensor they are required to purchase. Students may work in groups of up to three and split the cost. This hands-on project will familiarize the students with scientific methods about environmental monitoring, data collection, and the analysis of climate data.
Three components make up your grade (150 points total).
The first component requires the assembly of your group, and the purchase and possession of your temperature sensor (50 points)
The second component involves the field deployment of your sensor and data collection according to the criteria and standards given (50 points)
The third component is the analysis of these data and a presentation of the results (50 points)
