2 What’s Under Your Skin? Your skin is a very complicated structure. Taking care of it will help keep your skin looking young and healthy for many years.

3 Sun Exposure Prolonged sun exposure over your lifetime can cause wrinkles, sun spots and increase your risk for skin cancer.

4 Sun Exposure Use sunscreen Seek shade Wear the proper clothing
Apply a broad spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of at least 15. Seek shade Stay out of the sun during the afternoon hours to avoid the strongest rays. Wear the proper clothing Clothing such as long sleeve shirts, hats and pants can help block the sun. Winter Dangers Even in the winter months the sun can still cause damage. Make sure to use a moisturizer with a SPF factor.

5 Smoking Smoking can cause wrinkles and make your skin look older! Quitting smoking will help to improve blood flow and the amount of nutrients that reach your skin. This will result in a more youthful appearance.

6 Take It Easy On Your Skin
Bathing and shaving can take a lot out of your skin (mainly oils that make your skin look healthy). Avoid taking long, hot showers Use mild soaps and cleansers Shave carefully and use shaving cream

7 Skin Needs Food Too Eating a balanced diet will give your skin the vitamins and nutrients it needs to look its best. Fruits, vegetables, protein, and whole grains should be staples for your nutrition.

8 Water, water, water! Your skin is made up of 90% water! Therefore, it is crucial that you drink plenty of water to help keep your skin looking its best. Men typically need approximately 13 cups a day, and women need 9 cups a day. Keep in mind that if you are working out or spend a lot of time outside when it’s warm, you need to increase the amount of water you take in.
