1 Minimally Invasive Right Heart Operations: Techniques for Bicaval Occlusion and Cardioplegia
William S Peters, John H Stevens, Julian A Smith, Franklin L Rosenfeldt, Lawrence C Siegel, Thomas A Burdon  The Annals of Thoracic Surgery  Volume 64, Issue 6, Pages (December 1997) DOI: /S (97)

2 Fig. 1 (A) Femoral–bicaval cannulation with snaring of the superior vena cava (SVC) and inferior vena cava (IVC). The Endoaortic Clamp balloon is inflated to occlude the ascending aorta, and infusion of cardioplegic solution and cardiac venting are achieved via a central lumen. (B) Femoral–IVC and right atrial appendage–SVC cannulations with external clamping of the IVC and snaring of the SVC. (C) Femoral–IVC and jugular–SVC cannulations. The SVC is occluded using a balloon catheter introduced coaxially through the jugular cannula. (CS = coronary sinus ostium; RAA = right atrial appendage; TV = tricuspid valve.)
