2. Lesson 2-Indefinite Articles
Adjectives are words that modify/describe nouns and pronouns. A, an, and the are special kinds of adjectives called articles.
A and an are called indefinite articles because they refer to one of a group of people, places, things, or ideas.

3. Lesson 2-Indefinite Articles
Use a before words beginning with a consonant sound; use an before words beginning with a vowel sound.
Examples:
Example: a carrot, a ripe tomato, an apple pie, an hour

4. Lesson 2-Definite Articles
The is called a definite article because it identifies a specific person, place, thing, or idea.
Examples:
The answer
The skateboard

5. Lesson 2-Proper Adjectives
Another type of adjective is formed from a proper noun.
This type of adjective is called a proper adjective.
A proper adjective is capitalized.
Sometimes, a proper adjective has the same spelling as its related proper noun. More often, however, the proper adjective and noun are spelled differently.
Example:
Canadian bacon, German noodles, New England clam chowder, Idaho potatoes
